Where Experience Meets Hands-On Learning in Electric Metering
Since 1974, RMEMA has brought metering professionals together to share real-world knowledge, teach skills you can use immediately, and prepare the next generation for the challenges of a constantly changing industry.
RMEMA’s Meter School isn’t just another conference. It’s hands-on, real-world training led by people who do this work every day. Whether you’re starting in metering or sharpening advanced skills, you’ll leave with techniques you’ve actually practiced, solutions to the problems you face on the job, and a network of peers you can count on long after you head home.

One of the Few Truly Hands-On Schools
A 50-Year Legacy of Skills That Stick
Since 1974,
the Rocky Mountain Electric Metering Association has been dedicated to advancing the electric utility metering profession through education, collaboration, and hands-on training. Our annual Meter School in Fort Collins brings together technicians, engineers, and customer service professionals from across the region to share expertise, sharpen their skills, and learn the latest in metering technology.
Unlike many training events, RMEMA focuses on doing, not just listening. Every class is built to give you experience with real equipment, realistic scenarios, and the kind of problem-solving you’ll use back at work. We update our curriculum every year so what you learn here applies to the challenges and technologies you’re facing right now.
It’s a program shaped by people who do this work every day, designed to give you skills you can use immediately, and backed by a 50-year legacy of training that sticks. When you leave, you’ll take home more than just new techniques — you’ll have a stronger professional network, practical solutions to real-world problems, and the confidence to handle whatever metering challenges come your way.
